8239 digitally replicates an apple in three dimensions by using a pointillistic approach of painting dots of color on its surface. The piece utilizes color palettes and techniques to emulate Pointillism. The techniques were applied to an extra dimension by painting and connecting thousands of spheres of color with the virtual reality drawing software Quill. The completed apple was then imported into a Unity3D scene to be viewed in VR with an Oculus headset. The piece gets its name from the number of colored dots in the final product. 

This piece is a proof of concept and the pointillistic technique used to create it will likely be explored further.
